Co-directed by Lynnette Moran (Dublin) and Kate Craddock (Newcastle) – mouth to mouth are an international performance collective who came together following studying MA Performance at Goldsmiths College, London. mouth to mouth collaborators are spread throughout the world in China, Switzerland, Japan, Korea, Bosnia and the UK.
We create multi-disciplinary performances that bring live and virtual performers together in one shared space, utilising domestic web based technologies such as Skype as a tool for performance. We are interested in creating intimate and site-specific performance events that combine visual and physical storytelling with lo-fi and hi-fi technologies.
mouth to mouth were blueroom artists in residence at LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre) during 2007 and 2008 culminating in a live performance titled A River Runs Through Us at LIFT 2008 on London’s Southbank as part of their series of Adventures in Conversations.
Through this residency at LIFT we developed our working methods as a geographically dispersed collective, and continued our work towards developing a common universal language for performance.
Since 2006 mouth to mouth have performed in a range of venues including Battersea Arts Centre, Northern Stage, Dance City and Whitechapel Gallery.
The work of mouth to mouth has been featured in Greg Giesekam’s book Staging the Screen (Palgrave MacMillan, 2007).
